Swimming around our gites near St Jean D'Angely

Indoor - If its just too hot (or not !) head for Atlantys in St Jean d'Angely, just a 10 min drive away. Next to the leisure park this great swimming pool centre is perfect to keep the children enteratined. It has three swimming pools, a childrens fun pool with depths from a few centimetres to 1.40m and an enormas slide; a professional swimming pool and a diving pool, it also has saunas and jacuzzis.

Incredibly cheap entry and no time limit on your stay, you could spend the whole day there. Theres a cafe and sunbathing area too. Please note that boys and men have to wear swimming trunks, swimming shorts are not allowed.

Outdoor - in the Les Vallaies pool of course. 66m2 with a 4m by 4m toddlers area with a gentle slope from a few cm to 0.8m, perfect for paddling; and then the 10m by 5m main area which has a 0.8m shallow area and then a slope down to 1.80m deep end. Theres also a spa too. Lots of sunbeds and you are just seconds away from your own cottage.

In rivers - there are numerous lakes and rivers around the area where swimming and picknicking is allowed.

and in the sea - just an easy one hours drive away there are great gently sloping beaches, perfect for swimming and paddling, just make sure you go when the tides in (it goes a long way out !) The island beaches are great for older children who enjoy body boarding as there is some great surf and waves. The mainland beaches are a lot more sheltered and better for younger children.
