'Excellent. Our second experience of the 'Blakeman' approach to holiday houses and even better than the first. Standards much higher than some other properties we have rented through Chez Nous. The house had everythIng we needed and nice touches like washing up liquid to tide you over until you get to the shops. Lovely pool - good size and well kept. Thank you.'

'A wonderfully equipped pair of gites. Good room sizes and well laid out. Lots of local ameneties and loads to do and visit. The pool was fantastic - particularly good for young children with excellent security. Wine walk excellent. '

Best family holiday we've had. Accomodation just as advertised. Very clean, very welcoming. Chris and Wendy available but not intrusive. Nice clean pool. Thanks to you both and to Wendys Mum and Dad for letting us have their house !

Very enjoyable holiday in very peaceful and beautiful setting. Plenty of places of interest less than an hour away. Useful reading other visitors comments.

Over the years we've stayed in 5 or 6 properties from the chez nous brochure at varying price levels from around £800 to £1700 per week and I'm pleased to say this has been the best. Kitchen and dining facilities have met all our needs. Beds great (this is often what lets places down) - important to sleep well on holiday. The kids loved the swings and sand pit. We did find the pool a bit crowded when other families left all their lilos, sharks and alligators lying in it once they had left ! Wine tasting - I really enjoyed both. A good mix of information, humour and enjoyment. Lovely to have met you. Thanks for having such a nice place. We wish you all well.

Le Pavillion was ideal for us and we are definately missing our afternoon dip in the pool. We will try and educate our neighbours who all seem to go to the far south, the dordogne or, if they are adventurous, the vendee. Meanwhile, my mother in law has told virtually the whole of Essex what wonderful fish they can have at Chez Andre. I'm afraid we're not organised enough to decide now what we want to do next year but we would all like to return sometime so we hope to see you again then.

We found Vierge a very comfortable and well equipped base for our holiday. The kitchen comprised all we wanted for holiday / barbecue eating and we particularly liked the fact that it was quite distinct from the dining / living area. As a family of 5, we found the cottage spacious and airy. My husband appreciated the king sized 'endless' bed in the master bedroom, an important consideration if you are over 6ft ! Being able to watch the children play on the swings and explore the garden while we relaxed on the patio area was a definate bonus and lived up to our expectations in choosing this cottage. We also liked the privacy that we enjoyed outside too. Our quests for the beach, La Rochelle and dining out were punctuated with some very relaxing times by the pool.

We have had a good time, enhanced by the fact we had our first week facing the garden - very peaceful and our second week facing the pool, almost like a different holiday !

We have enjoyed our stay here very much ! It was a shame the weather was a bit unsettled in the first week (no barbecues for us !) but we have still seen plenty of sunshine and have done a lot of things. The house suited us fine - especially good to have no stairs and the pool has been great for small children. We have felt a bit isolated from the outside world - no tv, poor radio reception and it is hard to find a newspaper. It would of been helpful to hear a weather forecast to plan the day better in the first week when it was unsettled - but thats just us. The countryside is beautiful and it has been wonderful to come back after a busy day to hear just the bees and the grasshoppers. Thank you !!

NB Chris and Wendy say - newspapers are available from the supermarkets and english newspapers from the newsagents in st jean. If you want a daily forecast - just ask Chris who comes to clean the pool every morning, he'll print one off the internet and leave it outside your cottage Just Ask.
